AAJA-LA teams up with KNBC to offer summer broadcast internship

AAJA Los Angeles will again select one AAJA student member for an internship at KNBC this summer. The selected student will receive a $1,000 stipend from AAJA to complete the internship. Students are encouraged to apply now.

In addition to their work at the station, the chosen intern will also write a story sharing his or her experiences at the end of the internship for the AAJA-LA website, www.aaja-la. org, and will be required to volunteer for at least two AAJA-LA events.

Applications for the summer internship is being accepted now! Deadline is May 16.  Here are the details:

KNBC Channel 4:
-3 month internship -Internship can be in Investigative Unit, Sports, the Digital Channel, General Newsroom or Community Relations.
-Intern duties include helping reporters, producers, executive producers, assignment desk managers and others as required. Additional duties include logging tapes, answering viewer emails, distributing scripts, newsgathering, writing and researching.
-Must be receiving school credit to qualify for internship. Must be at least junior or senior year of college. Journalism or other related majors only.
-Preferred skills: basic knowledge and understanding of TV production. Motivated and task-oriented. Other broadcast journalism experience helpful. Basic knowledge of sports (for Sports interns)
