The City of Los Angeles Emergency Management Department Media Task Force cordially invites City and County Public Information Officers, Emergency Managers, Media Professionals (including print, radio and television reporters, news directors and assignment editors) to attend our year end Media Task Force Meeting.
What to bring: Suggested: an unwrapped toy to be donated to a downtown shelter; a holiday continental breakfast will be provided.
When it is: Thursday, December 17, 2009 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where is it: The City’s new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) 500 E. Temple Street, Los Angeles, Ca 90012
A guided tour of this state-of-the-art facility will be available.
Why attend: It’s the end of the year review with a sneak peek into the training and events scheduled for public information officers who are critical in developing and disseminating messaging to the media and the public during a crisis. It’s also an opportunity for media professionals and public information officers to network and share how we can work collaboratively during a major emergency or crisis situation.
