AAJA NATIONAL JOURNALISM AWARDS

Nominate yourself or your colleagues for the 2010 AAJA National Journalism Awards in Online, Photography, Print, Radio and Television. Entries fees are WAIVED for current 2010 AAJA members and $100 per entry for non-AAJA members. Winners will be notified in advance of the 2010 AAJA National Convention held August 4-7, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. Awards will be presented at the AAJA Gala Scholarship and Awards Banquet on Saturday, August 7 at the Renaissance Hotel in LA. The entrant need not be present to win. AAJA SPECIAL AWARDS

SPECIAL RECOGNITION – AAJA’s Special Recognition Award honors a person who has helped to advance AAJA’s goals over the past year or over the course of a life’s work.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT – AAJA’s Lifetime Achievement Award honors an individual who has demonstrated courage and commitment to the principles of journalism over the course of a life’s work, as well as dedication to issues important to the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.

DR. SUZANNE AHN AWARD FOR CIVIL RIGHTS & SOCIAL JUSTICE FOR ASIAN AMERICANS – The award was established by the Asian American Journalists Association in 2003 to recognize excellence in coverage of civil rights of Asian Americans and/or issues of social justice for Asian Americans. A prize $5,000 and award plaque is given to the winner. The entry fee is waived for current 2010 AAJA members. There is a non-refundable entry fee of $25 for non-AAJA members.
