Responsibilities

The Post-Production Intern will mainly assist the editors and assistant editor in the creation of two weekly shows.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-    Logging and digitizing media
-    Helping editors string out and/or rough cut show segments
-    Burning DVDs/CDs
-    Organizing tapes/ editor area
-    Keeping library listing of audio used in shows
-    Delivering tapes
-    Other post-production duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

-    Know how to burn DVDs
-    Be familiar with MAC computers
-    Be familiar with Final Cut Pro
-    Familiar with creating/editing rough cuts or string outs
-    Desire to become an editor or learn more about editing

NBC Universal interns must meet the following criteria:

-    Enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Masters program at an accredited college or university
-    18 years or older and current sophomore standing or above
-    Able to receive academic credit from their college or university prior to starting assignment
-    Commit to minimum of 3 days per week either on a part-time or full-time basis

As a Web-first news operation, The Register is particularly interested in interns with broadcast and Web skills to go with a solid foundation in reporting, writing and news judgment. The student will serve a 150-hour internship, spread over 10 weeks — usually two days a week. The pay is $10.63 an hour.

In addition to their work at the station, the chosen intern will also write a story sharing his or her experiences at the end of the internship for the AAJA-LA website, www.aaja-la. org, and will be required to volunteer for at least two AAJA-LA events.

Applications for the summer internship is being accepted now! Deadline is May 16.  Here are the details:

KNBC Channel 4:
-3 month internship -Internship can be in Investigative Unit, Sports, the Digital Channel, General Newsroom or Community Relations.
-Intern duties include helping reporters, producers, executive producers, assignment desk managers and others as required. Additional duties include logging tapes, answering viewer emails, distributing scripts, newsgathering, writing and researching.
-Must be receiving school credit to qualify for internship. Must be at least junior or senior year of college. Journalism or other related majors only.
-Preferred skills: basic knowledge and understanding of TV production. Motivated and task-oriented. Other broadcast journalism experience helpful. Basic knowledge of sports (for Sports interns)
