The deadline to register early for the Boston AAJA National Convention is April 17th. After April 17th, the registration rates go up. We hope you plan to join us in Beantown!

If you would like to take advantage of the networking, valuable workshops, access to national media recruiters and fun that the Boston convention will offer – but you are experiencing serious financial difficulty (layoffs,
furloughs, cut in hours, etc..), please apply for a $500 stipend that the Los Angeles AAJA chapter is offering.

Please email a cover letter explaining your financial difficulty, why you want to/need to go to the convention, along with a resume and samples of your work.

If you’re a TV or radio journalist, let us know if you can post your sample on YouTube or provide a link we can access. If not, we can email you a physical address you can send the sample to.

The deadline for the stipend application is April 17th.

If you have an idea for a logo to represent Los Angeles in 2010, share it!

We want you to develop a logo, maybe even the theme!, that will beckon Boston convention goers to Los Angeles in 2010.

The logo should be representative of Los Angeles — not just Hollywood, but everything that makes Southern California so wonderful.

The 21st Annual National Convention, will be held on August 4-7, 2010.

The Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, California has been selected to be the host hotel and meeting facility.

If your logo is selected as the winner, you’ll receive prominent credit and a $250 stipend to the Boston convention, Los Angeles convention or other related journalism-event.

Submissions should be sent via email to Henry Fuhrmann at hfuhrmann@aol.com and must be in by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 3.

Entries will then be forwarded anonymously to the AAJA-LA board, which will decide on the winning entry. Good luck!
