Is it time to become the tech savvy reporter in your newsroom? Learn the basics of digital audio recording, video editing and other multimedia storytelling tools and techniques in a free daylong workshop co-sponsored by the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the CSUN Journalism Department.

The sessions are geared to introduce participants to the latest skills and Web-based techniques employed in multimedia storytelling formats, and give them a chance to get hands-on experience in a variety of popular software and Internet tools.

Experienced instructors, including professionals and educators, will demonstrate simple as well as more complex digital audio and video capturing and editing techniques, in addition to emphasizing how visual journalists are using Flickr and PhotoShelter to enhance their work with Soundslides software.

A light lunch will be provided.

The seminar is funded by a national SPJ grant.
