SPJ/LA Presents Race, Crime and Violence Panel Discussion, Nov. 24

The Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists invites you to join us on Monday, Nov. 24, for a panel discussion with a journalist, filmmaker and researcher on the media’s coverage of race while reporting crime and violence. Our speakers include:

  Celeste Fremon, writer for Witness LA, The Huffington Post and LA Weekly

  M.K. Asante, Jr., author and filmmaker

  Otto Santa Ana, researcher with the UCLA Cesar E. Chavez Center

Come at 6:30 p.m. and see a performance from singer Kalil Wilson and keyboardist Daniel Marschack.
