Amp up your summer fun with a ticket to the V3 Digital Media Conference (V3con), the hottest ticket in town for AAPI online journalists, creative social media communicators, seasoned bloggers and those interested in engaging on digital platforms. In this unique, one-day conference setting, all are invited to share their experiences, knowledge, endeavors, and visions with others during interactive panels and workshops. Here’s a look at some of the sessions planned:
A CONVERSATION WITH: Randall Park
The hottest new show to tackle Asian American issues is ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat,” starring Randall Park. In a conversation, Randall will talk about the show and what it means to Asian Americans.
The writing coach is in: A workshop on writing better
Back again because of high demand! Let’s get back to the basics of writing. Join writing coach Steve Padilla to learn how better structure can make your writing even stronger.
State of the Asian American Blog
What is the value of bloggers who write about the Asian American community and where is the next generation of voices? Asian American blog founders gather together to discuss what blogging is like today and what they’ve learned from running their sites.
Finding the heart of the story: A storytelling workshop
Can you find the untold story in your community? Seasoned writing coach Tom Huang will coach writers and storytellers to get to the heart of a story, even if it means working through language and cultural barriers. This workshop also goes through a set of questions to help you focus your story and understand the stories’ underlying themes.
Checking multiple checkboxes: Discussing being two “others”
What does it mean to be multiracial? Or queer and a person of color? Identity goes beyond the Census checkboxes of gender and race, identity is how we define ourselves. Panelists will talk about their backgrounds and how they’ve navigated their personal journeys, plus discuss how writers can better serve their communities.
With all these informative and enlightening talks, you won’t want to miss out. We’re offering a 10 percent discount on all ticket types in honor of the Summer Solstice and Father’s Day – use code V3-SS at Eventbrite to access the discount.
