Convention goers!

AAJA-LA is offering a limited number of free registrations and free rooms to attend the Asian American Journalists Association national convention in Philadelphia. It’s our way of helping students and others with financial difficulties experience the networking, workshops and access to national media recruiters. AAJA-LA will cover a student registration (valued at $150) or professional registration (valued at $250).

To apply, send an email to aajalaawards@gmail.com with the subject line: “Convention Stipend.” Include a 150-word note explaining your financial situation and reasons for attending the convention. Also include your resume and links to up to three pieces of your work. The application deadline is Sunday, April 2. Both students and professionals are eligible to apply — but you must be a current member of AAJA-LA. 

Stipend and scholarship winners are automatically offered free housing in either a large Airbnb or a shared hotel room at the convention site provided by AAJA-LA. For more information on this program, go to AAJA-LA’s web site (www.aaja-la.org). 

Those selected to receive the convention packages are encouraged to attend LA-chapter events held at convention and required to volunteer at this year’s Trivia Bowl in October.
