The Los Angeles chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association is seeking proposals for in-depth reporting projects that explore health equity issues that affect the Asian American community.
This fellowship is open to professional journalists, but priority will be given to the following applicants:
- AAJA-LA chapter members
- CCNMA: Latino Journalists of California, NABJLA and NAHJLA chapter members
- Freelance/Independent journalists
- Journalists with two years of professional experience
- Journalists who attend AAJA-LA health equity programming events
- Journalists with a track record of producing larger scale projects
Fellows will receive:

- $2,500 reporting grant
- Three months of mentorship
- Assistance in placing the story in a publication*

Application requirements:

- Description of project proposal, including a community engagement component (up to 750 words)
- What story/stories will you deliver at the end of this program?
- Bio (no more than 100 words) and headshot
- A response to the following prompt: Why are you the best person to tell this story? (up to 500 words)
- Budget proposal
- Resumé
- Reference letter
- Links to three work samples
