The Los Angeles Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association

Want to get more involved? Consider running for an AAJA-LA board position

Do you want to be more active with one of the most influential journalism organizations in Southern California? Want to play a pivotal role in directing AAJA’s events, programs and helping shape and mentor future journalists? Have ideas about how AAJA could do more during this trying time in our industry?

Then AAJA Los Angeles wants you!

We are currently looking to elect new officers and board members for 2009. The positions are:

President
Vice President for Print
Vice President for Broadcast
Secretary
Treasurer
General Board Members
Student Board Members

*We are especially looking to fill the president and treasurer roles. The treasurer can be an associate member and does not have to be a journalist.
*There is no limit to the number of board members our chapter can have.
*Student Board Members are not elected. They will be appointed by the current board once a student expresses interest.

The officers and board members meet quarterly and are assigned to specific committees. You can help out as much as your schedule/passion allows. We’d like to see a diverse group on our board – print/tv/radio/online, etc… so PLEASE consider joining us!

We welcome anyone who wants to get more involved.

Please email your interest, and the position you’d like to run for, to our election organizer Grace Lim by SEPTEMBER 30th!
