We hope you’ll join us at the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) national convention in Las Vegas this year, hosted August 10 to 13 at Caesars Palace. The deadline to register at the regular rate is June 26. After that date, the registration rates go up.

If you would like to take advantage of the networking, valuable workshops, access to national media recruiters and fun that the Las Vegas convention will offer – but you are experiencing serious financial difficulty (layoffs, furloughs, cut in hours, etc..) – please apply for the complimentary registration that the Los Angeles AAJA chapter is offering; travel and hotel expenses are not included. The student registration is valued at $150 and the professional registration is valued at $325.

To apply, please email a 150-word paragraph (explaining your financial difficulty and why you want to/need to go to the convention), links to three pieces of your work and your resume to aajalaawards@gmail.com. Both students and professionals are eligible to apply. We are currently accepting applications for the complimentary registration and the deadline to apply for this opportunity is Sunday, May 22, at 11:59 p.m. Those selected to receive the complimentary registration are required to assist at the media access panel at the convention in Las Vegas (date and time TBA).
