2019 Photo Auction and Christmas Party

Join AAJA-LA on Sunday, Dec. 8, for its annual holiday party and photo auction, featuring L.A.’s top news photojournalists.

It’s one festive affair with music, food, drink and art. The setting will be Sake Dojo in Little Tokyo with festivities running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The photo auction will be the centerpiece of the night. Every photo will be signed and framed. The basic frame size is 16×20 with 11×14 images, although many have been printed to slightly different dimensions. Starting price is $150 per photo. Dozens of news photographers have donated their works, and each piece has been printed with archival inks and paper to ensure they will last well into the next century.

Some of the highlights include images from the Hong Kong protests by Marcus Yam and shots of the Vietnam War from Pulitzer Prize winner Nick Ut. Many of the the photographers will be at the exhibit, ready to discuss composition, technique and gear!

While you’re looking through the dozens of photos, enjoy the complimentary food and entertainment provided by AAJA-LA. Beer is $5, wine and sake $6 and cocktails $7.

We’re encouraging everyone to bring an unwrapped toy to the event. Our designated charity is the “Spark of Love” Toy Drive, presented by ABC7 and Southern California Firefighters.

Space is limited. $5 for AAJA members and $15 for nonmembers. Buy your ticket quickly!
